- 2 pkg. Fleischmann's yeast
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 1 3/4 c. warm milk
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. salt (if using self-rising flour, omit salt)
- 3 Tbsp. softened margarine

Directions

1Dissolve yeast in water in a large warm bowl. Add milk, sugar, salt and margarine.

2Stir in 2 cups unsifted flour.

3Beat with rotary beater until smooth, about 1 minute. Add 1

4cup flour and beat until mixed.

5Gradually stir in enough additional flour (3 cups or more) to make a soft dough.

6Turn onto lightly floured board and knead until smooth and elastic.

7Cover dough with towel and let rest 20 minutes.
