- 1 1/3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 c. yellow cornmeal
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
- 1/2 c. shredded extra sharp Cheddar cheese
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 2/3 c. 1/2% milk or whole milk
Directions

1Preheat oven to 425°.

2Combine flour, cornmeal, baking powder, salt, mustard and cheese.

3Cut shortening with pastry blender to resemble cornmeal.

4Add milk; stir to form dough.

5Put on floured surface and knead 6 times.

6Pat to 1/2-inch thickness.

7Cut with 4-inch biscuit cutter.

8Place on baking sheet.

9Bake for 16 minutes or until brown.
