- 8 slices bacon, diced
- 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 1 c. half and half
- 2 c. (17 oz.) cream-style corn
- 2 (8 oz.) bottles clam juice
- 1 Tbsp. sherry (optional)
- 6 (6 1/2 oz.) cans minced clams
- 1/2 tsp. ground white pepper
- 6 or 7 dashes hot pepper sauce
Directions

1Cook bacon.

2Add flour to drippings in pot; stir over medium heat until mixture bubbles.

3Slowly whisk in half and half. Stirring constantly, bring to boil.

4Reduce heat to low.

5Add remaining ingredients; stir to blend.

6Simmer, do not boil, for 1 to 2 minutes, until flavors have blended.

7Ladle into mugs. Sprinkle bacon on top.

8Makes 12 cups.
