  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 to 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. corn meal
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. milk
  • 3 Tbsp. melted shortening

Directions

    Sift flour, sugar, salt and baking powder together.

    Stir cornmeal thoroughly into flour mixture.

    Combine well beaten eggs, milk and shortening; add to dry ingredients.

    Mix well; pour into greased pan and bake at 375° for 40 minutes.
