- 1/4 c. sugar (optional)
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 egg
- 1 c. milk
- 1/4 c. shortening or oil
Directions

1Sift dry ingredients into a bowl.

2Add egg, milk and shortening (oil).

3Beat until smooth.

4Pour into greased 8 or 9-inch square pan.

5Bake in preheated oven at 450° for 20 to 25 minutes.
