  • 1 3/4 c. white corn meal
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 Tbsp. melted lard
  • 1 1/3 c. buttermilk

Directions

    Combine corn meal, flour, baking powder, soda and salt.

    Add egg, lard and buttermilk.

    Beat well.

    Pour into 2 greased corn stick pans. Bake at 425° for 20 minutes.

    Makes 14 corn sticks.
