  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 Tbsp. Crisco oil
  • 1 c. sifted regular flour
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 1/2 c. cooked whole kernel corn, drained
  • Crisco oil for cooking

Directions

    Beat egg with milk; stir in 1 tablespoon Crisco and corn.

    Add combined dry ingredients and stir just enough to evenly distribute the ingredients.

    Drop from tablespoon into Crisco oil; fry about 4 minutes.

    Drain on paper towel.

    Makes 12 to 16 fritters.
