  • 1 1/3 c. flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2/3 c. milk
  • 1 egg, well beaten
  • 1 (1 lb. 1 oz.) can corn, drained

Directions

    Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.

    Blend milk and egg.

    Add gradually to dry ingredients.

    Stir in the well drained corn and drop by tablespoon into deep fat (375°).

    Fry until golden brown, 4 to 8 minutes, depending on the size.

    Drain on paper towels (optional). Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
