- 2 c. self-rising cornmeal
- 1/2 c. self-rising flour
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 2 c. buttermilk
- 1 egg, beaten
- 3 Tbsp. shortening
Directions

1Mix dry ingredients.

2Make a hole in the center and add buttermilk, egg and melted shortening.

3Beat well.

4Pour into greased loaf pan.

5Bake 50 minutes at 370°.

6Cool a few minutes in pan and then turn out before it sweats in pan.
