Ingredients
- 1 pt. milk
- 1/2 c. cornmeal
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 2 tsp. salt
- 2 beaten eggs
- 1 yeast cake or 1 pkg. dry yeast
- flour
Directions

1Cook milk and cornmeal in double boiler or heavy pan until thick.

2Add sugar, shortening and salt.

3Cool until lukewarm.

4Add eggs and yeast.

5Add sifted flour to make a stiff batter; knead in additional flour.

6Put in greased bowl and let rise until doubled in size.

7Punch down and shape rolls.

8Put in greased pan and let rise again.

9Bake at 375° for 30 to 35 minutes.
