  • 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. peanut butter
  • 1/4 c. margarine or butter, softened
  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 4 c. corn puff cereal
  • 1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions

    Heat oven to 325°.

    Mix sugars, peanut butter, margarine, shortening, egg, baking soda and baking powder.

    Stir in cereal and chocolate chips.

    Shape dough by rounded tablespoonfuls into balls.

    Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake until golden, 10 to 12 minutes.

    Cool 5 minutes; remove from cookie sheet.

    Makes about 3 1/2 dozen.
