- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 c. sifted flour
- 1 c. corn meal
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2/3 c. buttermilk
- 1 egg
- 1 c. cream-style corn
Directions

1Cook onion in shortening, until yellowed.

2Sift dry ingredients together.

3Add milk, egg and corn.

4Add onion and mix well.

5Fill greased corn stick pans 2/3 full.

6Bake in a hot 450° oven until brown.
