Cornbread Dressing

Ingredients

  • 1 medium pan cornbread
  • 1 c. diced celery
  • 1 c. green pepper
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 2 to 3 c. chicken broth or turkey broth
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup (undiluted) or cream of chicken soup
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 egg
  • sage to taste

Directions

    Crumble cornbread.

    Saute celery, onions and pepper.

    Add broth to crumbled bread.

    Add undiluted soup; mix in.

    Saute onion.

    Mix all ingredients.

    Season with sage, ground sage, salt and pepper; mix well.

    Do not make stiff.

    Use enough broth to give enough moisture to cook.

    Add beaten egg to dressing.

    Bake in oven at 325° until dressing is done.

    Stir while baking.
