Ingredients

  • 6 c. cornbread crumbs
  • 8 c. bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp. sage
  • 1 Tbsp. poultry seasoning
  • 2 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 5 ribs celery, chopped
  • 1 lb. onions, chopped
  • 1 small bell pepper, chopped
  • 10 large eggs
  • 2 Tbsp. black pepper
  • 1 c. melted margarine
  • 3 c. milk
  • approximately 2 qt. rich turkey broth (as needed)

Directions

    Saute onions, celery and bell pepper in margarine until soft. Mix bread crumbs with all spices, salt and baking powder.

    Beat eggs in mixer until light and foamy.

    Add milk to eggs.

    Mix together dry ingredients and sauteed vegetables.

    Add milk-egg mixture.

    Add broth until dressing is soupy.

    Pour into baking pan and dribble melted butter over top.

    Bake at 350° for 1 hour.
