Cottage Cheese Dilly Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 packages Yeast, mixed with 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1 cup Warmed cottage cheese
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Dry minced onion
  • 3 tsp Dill SEED
  • 3 tbsp Melted butter
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 1/2 cup Flour

    Mix the yeast and water.

    Let sit aside while you combine all other ingredients except the flour.

    Mix all wet ingredients together.

    Add in flour a half cup at a time.

    Mix well.

    Cover and let rest for one hour until doubled.

    Punch dough down.

    Turn dough out into a greased casserole dish (I use a round Pyrex dish).

    Let dough raise another 30 minutes.

    Bake in a preheated 350F oven for 45 minutes.

    It will need this long, the outside will be a dark brown, but the inside needs to cook longer or it will be gooey.

    Let cool slightly.

    Turn out of pan.

    Brush with melted butter, sprinkle with a bit of salt, and serve warm.
