Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground chuck
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 large tomato, thinly sliced
  • 2 c. grated Cheddar cheese
  • 4 large potatoes, mashed
  • butter to taste
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 pkg. frozen mixed vegetables, cooked and strained

Directions

    Brown meat with onion, garlic, salt and pepper to taste. Drain off excess fat.

    Put meat mixture in square baking dish. Mix in cooked vegetables.

    Layer sliced tomato on top.

    Cover with mashed potatoes (may substitute instant potatoes).

    Sprinkle Cheddar cheese on top.

    Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.

    May make ahead of time, cover and refrigerate until used.
