- 2 c. dry pinto beans
- 4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. chili powder
- 1 large onion, chopped
- jalapenos to taste
- 4 Tbsp. bacon grease
- 4 tsp. sugar
- 1 lb. hamburger meat
- 1 can tomatoes
Directions

1Cover the beans completely in water and add the grease, salt, sugar and chili powder.

2Cook over low heat for 3 or 4 hours.

3You may have to add water to keep the beans from burning and sticking. In a separate skillet, brown the hamburger.

4Add the hamburger, onion and tomatoes to the beans after they have cooked about 3 hours.

5Season to taste with jalapenos.

6Makes 6 servings.
