  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • Saltine crackers, salted
  • 1 bag chocolate chips (semi or milk, your choice)
  • 2 cups pecan pieces (or nut of your choice)

Directions

    Preheat oven to 400°F.

    Line a rimmed baking sheet with nonstick aluminum foil. Place saltines one by one, next to each other to fill the pan.

    In a medium saucepan, melt butter and margarine with brown sugar. When mixture begins to bubble and mix, allow to bubble for one minute. Mixture will be a light caramel color.

    After one minute take off heat and pour over crackers. Spread with offset spatula.

    Place in preheated oven for five minutes.

    Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over hot cracker mixture. Allow to sit for five minutes, to melt chocolate.

    When chocolate has melted, spread with offset spatula to an even thickness.

    Top with sprinkled pecans.
