  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • rind of 2 oranges
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 c. cooking oil
  • 1 c. diced dates
  • 1 c. cranberries, cut in half
  • 1 c. sugar
  • juice of 2 oranges
  • water

Directions

    Cook over medium heat, sugar and juice of 2 oranges, adding water to make 1 cup.

    Bring to a boil.

    Brush over cake and let soak in.

    Refrigerate 3 days.
