- 8 ounces (about 2 cups) fresh cranberries
- 1 teaspoon finely grated orange zest plus 3 tablespoons fresh orange juice
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Directions

1In a saucepan, over medium-high heat, combine all ingredients and cook 7 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until berries start to pop but are still whole.

2Transfer to a bowl to cool.

3Compote can be refrigerated in an airtight container up to 3 days.
