Cranberry Fruit Nut Bread

Ingredients
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. grated orange peel
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- juice of one orange
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 c. cranberries, halved
- 1/2 c. nuts, chopped
Directions

1Measure flour, sugar, baking powder, soda, salt and orange peel in bowl.

2Cut in shortening.

3Add enough water to orange juice to make 3/4 cup.

4Add juice and egg into flour mixture. Stir in cranberries and nuts.

5Pour into loaf pan 9 x 5 x 3-inches, which has been greased.

6Bake at 350° for 60 to 70 minutes.

7Test with toothpick.

8Wrap while warm and slice the next day.
