Cream Cheese Wontons

  • 16 oz. cream cheese (room temperature)
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. snipped chives (fresh, if possible)
  • 4 doz. wonton wrappers (usually found in the produce section of the grocery store)
  • 4 c. peanut oil

Directions

    In a large bowl, combine cream cheese, sugar and chives, mixing until well smooth.

    Place a small spoonful of the mixture in the center of each wrapper (follow folding instructions on the wonton package).

    Preheat peanut oil to 375° in a deep pan. Deep-fry wontons until golden brown.

    Drain on paper towels. Serve hot.

    Makes 48 wontons.
