- 1/3 c. flour
- 2/3 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 c. milk
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 2 slightly beaten egg yolks
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 baked pastry shell
Directions

1Mix flour, sugar and salt thoroughly.

2Bring milk to scalding and add dry ingredients gradually, stirring often, until thick, about 15 minutes.

3Add butter and egg yolks; cook 2 minutes longer.

4Cool and add vanilla.

5Pour into baked pastry shell and cover with meringue.

6Bake at 400° for 7 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.
