- 3 c. milk
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. flour
- 3 eggs, separated
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 Tbsp. butter
Directions

1Put milk in a heavy saucepan over medium high heat.

2Combine sugar and flour.

3Pour a little hot milk in sugar and flour mixture to make syrup consistency.

4Just as milk is about to boil, pour sugar and flour mixture in milk, stirring quickly.

5Bring to boil for about 1 minute.

6Beat egg yolks.

7Pour about 1/2 pudding in, stirring well.

8Pour in remaining pudding.

9Return to heat and bring just to a boil.

10Remember to stir constantly.

11Remove from heat.

12Stir in vanilla and butter.

13Pour in baked pie shell.

14Top with meringue.

15Beat egg whites until peaks.

16Add 6 tablespoons of sugar.

17Bake at 350° for 15 minutes or until light brown.
