- 1 medium head cabbage
- 2 or 3 carrots
- 1 onion
- smoked sausage
- milk
- butter
- salt and pepper
- 1 c. flour
Directions

1Slice cabbage, carrots and smoked sausage.

2Chop onion.

3Cook in small amount of water (2 cups).

4When vegetables are done cooking (steaming) add enough milk to cover all, then add 1/2 stick butter.

5Season with salt and pepper to desired taste.

6Mix flour with water in bowl to make thick mixture.

7When mixture comes to a boil, thicken with flour and water to desired thickness (allow to cook for short period after every addition of flour and water, so mixture does not become too thick).

8We enjoy this over toast on a cold winter day!
