Creamy Mashed Potatoes

- 5 lb. potatoes, pared
- 2 tsp. salt
- 2 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese with chives, cubed
- 4 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 2 c. heavy cream
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- paprika (optional)
Directions

1Cook potatoes with 1 teaspoon salt in boiling water until tender.

2Drain.

3Mash potatoes until smooth; add cream cheese, 4 tablespoons butter, garlic salt, pepper and 1 teaspoon salt.

4Mix until smooth.

5Gradually add cream; mix well after each addition. Put in greased baking dish.

6(Bake at once or cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.)

7Dot top of potatoes with 2 tablespoons butter and sprinkle with paprika.

8Bake in 325° oven 30 minutes. Increase heat to 375° and bake 30 minutes more.
