- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 medium green pepper, sliced
- 1 small clove garlic, crushed
- 1/4 c. bacon drippings
- 2 lb. okra, cut in 1/2-inch slices
- 4 medium tomatoes, peeled and chopped
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 tsp. sugar
- salt and pepper
- 1 tsp. file powder
Directions

1Saute onion, green pepper and garlic in bacon drippings in Dutch oven until onion is tender.

2Add next 4 ingredients; salt and pepper to taste.

3Cover and cook over medium heat about 20 minutes.

4Remove from heat; stir in file powder.

5Serve over hot rice.
