Ingredients
- 1 flank steak (1 to 1 1/2 lb.)
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 c. sliced onion
- 1/4 c. chopped green pepper
- 1/2 c. Heinz tomato ketchup or chili sauce
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- dash of pepper
Directions

1In large skillet brown steak on both sides in shortening. Remove; saute onions and green pepper until tender in same skillet. Stir in ketchup and remaining ingredients; add meat.

2Cover and simmer 50 minutes or until tender, basting occasionally.

3Remove steak to cutting board; slice very thinly on diagonal, across the grain.

4Skim excess fat from sauce if necessary.

5Makes 4 servings (about 1 2/3 cups sauce).
