- 5 c. flour
- 2 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. plus 1 Tbsp. water
- 3/4 c. evaporated milk
- 1 1/4 c. butter
- 2 eggs
Directions

1In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of the flour, yeast, sugar and salt.

2In a small saucepan, heat 1 cup of the water, milk and 1/4 cup of the butter until warm (120° to 130°).

3Add to flour mixture with 1 of the eggs.

4Beat 3 minutes at medium speed and set aside.

5In a large bowl, cut remaining 1 cup butter into remaining 4 cups flour until particles are the size of large peas. Pour the yeast mixture over the flour-butter mixture.

6Stir until moist.

7Cover and refrigerate 2 to 24 hours.
