  • 1/2 lb. butter
  • 4 1/2 Tbsp. confectioners sugar
  • 2 c. cake flour
  • 1 tsp. orange juice
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. water
  • 1/2 c. finely chopped nuts
  • 1 1/3 c. bread flour (4 c.)
  • 1 1/3 pkg. RapidRise 50% faster yeast (4 pkg.)
  • 1 1/3 tsp. salt (4 tsp.)
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp. sugar (7 Tbsp.)
  • 2/3 c. hot water (2 c.)
  • 2 beaten eggs (7 to 8 large), reserve some for top
  • 2 plus Tbsp. oil (7 Tbsp.)
  • 2 1/3 to 2 2/3 c. additional flour (7 to 8 c.)

Directions

    In a large glass or Pyrex bowl, mix flour, yeast, salt and sugar.

    Add hot water.

    Add beaten eggs and oil.

    Beat 3 minutes. Add additional flour, starting with 2 cups.

    Stir.

    Add flour until dough is no longer sticky.
