Crispy Ginger Snaps

Ingredients

  • 3/4 C. shortening (scant)
  • 1 C. sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 4 Tbsp. molasses
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 C. flour
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 tsp. ginger
  • pinch of salt

Directions

    Mix shortening and sugar, then add egg and molasses.

    Sift the dry ingredients and add to first mixture. Using hands roll into balls the size of a walnut.

    Dip top in sugar and place on cookie sheet.

    Leave space between each for spreading.
