- 1 cup dried pinto bean
- 12-1 lb thick ham, diced or 2 ham hocks
- salt
- 2 -4 cups water
Directions

1Wash beans and (make sure there are no rocks) in them.

2Soak beans in bowl of water in fridge overnight.

3Dice ham and transfer ham and beans to crock pot.

4Season with salt and add enough water to cover ingredients.

5Cook in crock pot for 6-8 hours.

6Check periodically to make sure there is enough water to cover beans as it cooks, also checking for doneness and tenderness of ham and beans.

7Serve with cornbread.

8Can also add diced onion when serving.
