- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1/4 c. warm water (about 110~)
- 1/3 c. milk, at room temperature
- 1 egg
- about 4 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1 c. all-purpose flour, unsifted
- 1/2 tsp. salt
Directions

1In a large bowl, combine yeast, sugar and water.

2Let stand until bubbly (about 15 minutes).

3Blend in milk, egg and 1 tablespoon of the butter.

4Add flour and salt and beat until smooth.

5Cover and let stand in a warm place until almost double (about 45 minutes).
