- 1 1/2 lb. ground lean beef
- 2 Tbsp. lard or oil
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced or mashed
- 1 large green pepper, chopped
- 2 large tomatoes, chopped or 1 small can tomato puree or 1/4 c. tomato catsup
- 1 bay leaf, broken in little pieces
- 1/3 c. white wine or sherry
- 1/2 c. raisins
- 1/3 c. stuffed olives, sliced, capers or mixed olives and capers
- vinegar
- salt and pepper
Directions

1Fry onions and garlic in fat until soft.

2Add tomatoes and bay leaf and allow to simmer a little.

3Throw in meat and fry until brown, stirring frequently.

4Add remaining ingredients, stir-frying all the time.
