  • 1 pkg. hash browns with onions
  • 2 tbsp. shortening
  • 6 beef cubed steaks
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoon ketchup
  • Cheddar cheese, shredded (4 ounce.)
  • Ketchup

Directions

    Prepare hash browns as directed on package.

    Set aside.

    In a large skillet heat shortening.

    Cook cubed steaks over medium heat 3 to 5 min on each side or possibly till brown.

    Take skillet from heat.

    Season steaks with salt, spread each steak with 2 tsp.

    ketchup, then top each steak with 1/2 c. of cooked hash browns and 1 or possibly 2 Tbsp.

    shredded Cheddar cheese.

    Return skillet to heat.

    Cover and cook over low heat 2 or possibly 3 min or possibly till cheese is melted.
