Custard Amaretto Cake

- 1 (18 1/2 oz.) yellow cake mix
- 1/3 c. cornstarch
- 1 c. water
- 4 eggs
- 1/3 c. oil
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/3 c. cocoa
- 3/4 c. Amaretto
Directions

1In large mixing bowl, sift together cake mix and cornstarch. Add water, eggs, oil and vanilla.

2Mix until smooth.

3Grease and flour pans.

4Pour half the batter (3 cups) into 1 pan.

5Add cocoa to remaining batter, stirring until blended.

6Pour this batter into other pan.

7Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.

8Cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove and cool on rack.

9Freeze layers for 2 hours.

10Split each layer in half.

11Brush each layer with Amaretto.

12Put a chocolate layer on plate and spread with 1/3 custard filling.

13Repeat with remaining layers ending with yellow.

14Frost with whipped cream.
