  • 4 eggs
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1 c. cream
  • dash of nutmeg

Directions

    Preheat oven to 450°.

    Line 9-inch pie pan with pastry. Brush the inside with white of egg.

    Chill.

    Beat eggs slightly with fork; add the sugar and salt; stir until blended.

    Add milk and cream; blend well.

    Gently pour custard into pie pan. Sprinkle nutmeg on top.

    Bake at 450° for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 300° and bake for 50 minutes.
