  • 3 c. sifted cake flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. mace
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 c. milk

Directions

    Sift flour, baking powder, mace and salt together 3 times. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.

    Add eggs and beat thoroughly.

    Add sifted dry ingredients and milk alternately in small amounts, beating well after each addition.

    Pour into greased tube pan and bake at 350° for about 60 minutes.

    Makes 1 (10-inch) cake.
