  • 1 small onion, minced
  • 12 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 12 teaspoon cumin, ground
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 3 cups red lentils
  • 1 kombu seaweed, strip
  • 12 cups water
  • salt, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons cilantro
  • lemon slice, to garnish

Directions

    Saute onion, cinnamon& cumin in oil in a stockpot until the onion is translucent, about 2 minutes.

    Stir in the lentils, kombu& water.

    Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover& simmer for 1 hour.

    Season to taste& garnish with cilantro& lemon slices.
