- 3 pkg. yeast
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. Crisco
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 7 1/2 c. plain flour
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water.

2Scald milk and cool to lukewarm.

3Add dissolved yeast, milk, sugar, salt and shortening. Add 4 cups flour and beat by hand until it makes a medium-soft dough.

4Add remainder of the flour and work into dough.

5Let dough rise in a bowl, greased with oil and covered (you can use a wet cloth to cover).

6Let rise until the size doubles, then roll out on a floured board.

7Cut with cookie cutter, brush with oil and let rise again.

8Bake in a greased pan at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes.
