- 3 cups self raising flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons caster sugar
- 40 grams butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup water approximately
Directions

1Sifted flour salt and sugar into large bowl, rub in butter.

2Stir in milk and enough water to mix to sticky dough.

3Turn dough onto floured surface, knead until just smooth.

4Place dough on greased oven tray, press into 16cm round.

5Cut a cross in the dough, about 1cm deep.

6Brush dough with a little extra milk, and then sprinkle with flour.

7Bake in moderate hot oven for about 45 mins.

8Lift onto a wire rack to cool.
