- 1 tablespoon butter
- 12 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 cup half-and-half
- 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
- 1 dash salt
- 1 dash cayenne
- 1 tablespoon dry sherry
- 4 toast, slices buttered
- lettuce, for garnish
Directions

1Saute mushrooms in butter until golden brown.

2Mix cornstarch and half-and-half.

3Add to mushrooms and simmer, stirring until thickened.

4Fold in cheese until it melts smoothly into sauce.
