- 1 c. sifted flour
- 1/2 c. butter
- 2 Tbsp. water
- 1 c. water
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 tsp. almond extract
- 1 c. sifted flour
- 3 eggs
Directions

1Heat oven to 350°.

2Measure first cup of flour into bowl.

3Cut in 1/2 cup butter.

4Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons water and mix with fork.

5Form into ball and divide in half.

6Pat with hands into 2 large strips (3 x 12-inches).

7Place 2-inches apart on greased cookie sheet.

8Mix 1/2 cup butter and 1 cup water in small saucepan and bring to rolling boil.

9Remove from heat and add extract.

10Stir in flour, all at once.

11When smooth and thick, add one egg at a time, beating smoothly.

12Divide and spread half evenly over each piece of pastry.

13Bake 60 minutes.

14Frost at once with confectioners sugar icing and sprinkle with chopped nuts.
