- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. dates or 2 c., cut in pieces
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/4 c. sugar
- 4 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. nuts, chopped
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 2 Tbsp. melted butter
- 2 eggs
Directions

1Take 5 cans from peas/corn, wash, dry and spray well with Pam. These can be used over again.

2Cut dates; sprinkle with baking soda and pour 2 cups boiling water over them.

3Let cool.

4Beat 2 eggs; add sugar and butter.

5Sift flour, salt and baking powder. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with dates and water.

6Add nuts and vanilla.

7Fill cans 1/2 full.

8Set on cookie sheet.

9Bake at 350° for about 45 minutes.
