- 2 c. dates, cut lengthwise
- 3 c. boiling water
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 3 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 5 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- pinch of salt
- 2 c. chopped nuts
Directions

1Put dates, water and butter in a bowl.

2In second bowl, put eggs, sugar and vanilla.

3Place dry ingredients in third bowl.

4Add egg mixture to date mixture, then add flour mixture.

5Last add chopped nuts.

6Put batter into 4 loaf pans.

7Bake at 325° for 45 to 55 minutes.
