- 2 eggs
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. coarsely chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. Dromedary pitted dates, chopped
Directions

1Beat eggs until foamy.

2Beat in sugar and vanilla.

3Sift dry ingredients and stir into other ingredients.

4Mix in nuts and chopped dates.

5(Best if mixed with hands to blend dates completely into mixture.)

6Spread into greased 8-inch square pan. Bake in moderate slow oven (325°) for 25 to 35 minutes or until top has a dull crust.

7Cut in finger sized pieces while warm. Cool, then remove from pan and roll in powdered sugar.

8Makes 21 fingers (1 x 2 1/2-inches).
