- 3 c. sugar
- pinch of salt
- 1 c. milk
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. dates (cut up)
- 1 Tbsp. white Karo syrup
- 1 tsp. butter or margarine
- 1 c. cut pecans
Directions

1Cook sugar, salt, syrup, margarine and milk until it comes to a boil.

2Add cut-up dates.

3Stir all time.

4Cook to soft ball stage. Remove from heat; cool.

5Beat until very stiff and add pecans. Shape 6 to 8 inches long, 1/2-inch in diameter.

6Place on wax paper.

7Cut in slices when firm.
