- 3 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 2 c. chopped dates
- 1 c. chopped pecans
- 1 Tbsp. margarine
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Combine sugar and milk in saucepan.

2Bring to a boil.

3Cook without stirring, until it reaches soft ball stage or 238° on candy thermometer.

4Do not scrape sides on pan.

5Add dates and nuts.

6Cook until forms a firm ball in water or 250° on candy thermometer.

7Add butter and vanilla.
-
8Remove from heat.
-
9Let stand until lukewarm.
-
10Beat as fudge.
-
11When mixture begins to thicken, pour onto damp cloth and roll.

12Let stand 24 hours before slicing.
-
13Makes 2 rolls.
