Ingredients

  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 c. canned milk
  • 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 pkg. dates, chopped
  • 1 c. pecans, chopped
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Combine first 4 ingredients and cook slowly until it forms very soft ball.

    Add chopped dates and continue cooking until mixture forms soft ball as for fudge.

    Remove from fire and cool; add nuts and vanilla and beat.

    When almost firm, form into rolls on wet cloth.
  5. 5
    Roll in cloth and leave until cool.
  6. 6
    Keep rolls in waxed paper until ready to cut.

    Slice to serve.
