  • 2 or 3 lb. deer meat
  • 2 large onions
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 3 Tbsp. catsup
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar

Directions

    Brown meat; cut into pieces in bacon fat.

    Add 2 large onions, sliced.

    Continue browning.

    When nicely browned, stir in 3 tablespoons flour.

    Place in baking dish and add vinegar, catsup, sugar and salt and pepper to taste.

    Cover meat with water and bake at 375° for 2 to 3 hours or until tender, adding water as needed to keep meat covered.

    When done, thicken gravy and serve.
